I'm also learning how to not play videogames so that I can say hi to new people - [M12]: Social officer will need to very involved on O-Day - [BIG]: I care about crossclub culture, everyone in Cam Hall knows me. I'm the most active member in the clubroom. I care about transparency which has been a big problem lately. Questions ========= - What will you do to help UCC on O-Day? - [DIE]: Happy to help out a lot, one of few people who can use the 3d printer and Vive - [M12]: Anything and everything, will move between booth and clubroom - [BIG]: I can carry things, I can learn to use any piece of technology that we're going to shocase on O-Day - [JMA]: How many cross-club social events - [DIE]: Oh man how can I count? - [EAR] attests to this - [DIE]: I've been there for every LAN - Not all of the tech talks - Can't remember a social event that I've missed though - [M12]: Not many - [BIG]: I can't remember any that I've missed, and I've co-hosted one - Are you planning on running for anything next year? - [CAM]: Will run for social officer again, it's something I can do with - [M12}: See previous speech - [BIG]: Any non-exec role (I'm a non-student), pretty much anything that'll let me have an impact on the club - [MLG]: What impact do you want to have on the club? - [DIE]: O-Week, positive environment in clubroom for young people and old people - [BOB]: What was your username again? - [DIE]: Buddy you can't mess up my account it already doesn't work - [M12]: Need to merge Ed and Tech, but will create many changes in general - [BIG]: Miss the old days of more frequent LANs, Pizza nights were very cool, want to bring them back like [SOS], over the next two weeks, just making sure O-Day is smooth, long term, a regular event, retain more freshers - [tayfga15]: Any plans to bridge the tech/gaming divide? - [DIE]: Agree with [M12], there shouldn'y be a dividde - Need to get gamers involved in tech, need to get techers involved in game - Really want to get a roomba for the club, and then a second roomba and make them fight - [M12]: No further comment - [BIG]: Need to get the two officers working together. Don't neccesarily agree that there shouldn't be a divide, people should be able to do what they want, but more advertising for both sides needs to be done so that there is more of a crossover - [Prema Arasu]: Any comments on inclusivity in the clubroom? - [DIE]: Yeah I think that inclusivity should be a big part of any club on campus. Anyone being a dick should stop, and anyone in a position of power should stop people from being a dick - [M12]: take a look around the room at the number of girls, considering the ratio of girls in the worlds population - [BIG]: Unigames has done pretty well - [TAY]: Get girls -> Get girls - [BIG]: Well yeah, but I wouldn't lay it as simple as that - I would also Google the dates of events, last OGM was on lunar new year - [*OX]: Anything else? - [DIE]: Yeah, trial by combat > Candidates leave > Elections take place > Candidates return - [DIE] elected as social officer - [JMA] moves to reinstate standing orders - [DIE] seconds, passes Discussion of the Business Case =============================== - [SAS]: The business case has been withdrawn for many reasons - Costing - Elevator - No longer feasible - Anyone is welcome to take up new plans and new options for the future - I'll leave that to next committee - Feels bad man - [*OX] moves a motion of thanks to [SAS] for the huge amount of effort that he's put into the clubroom move and the others that helped - Motion passes by applause, or maybe that was literally everyone seconding General Business ================ - [CHS]: Anything else for General Business? - [LDT] if we wanted to start some shit, I've got some shit to be started - Waves around draft Code of Conduct for behaviour in the clubroom - [squalo]: Secretary doesn't have a voice recorder, I would suggest the a voice recorder - [BG3]: Strongly support that, minutes of the last OGM were from a voice recorder - [LAI]: In my experience, voice recorders tend to be average because of people taking over each other etc. - [NTU]: Prompt minutes are important, relying on a voice recorder often delays minutes being posted, although it does increase their accuracy - [SAS]: I think whether or not we get a voice recorder is the choice of the secretary, so we'll see - [DJF]: Can we formally set a date for the AGM - Tentative date 14th of March, Tuesday 3rd of Week Semester 1pm, this room Meeting close 1958
