UCC Committee Meeting Minutes 2015-11-23

Meeting opened at 11:16

Confirmation of minutes from previous meeting

##President's Report
- Exams are over
  - Congrats yo
- Also congratulations to everyone who failed to fail LIFE1102

##Education Report
- [EJK] absent, but may or may not be organising a tech talk
  - Probably not enough interest during holidays
- Ed wants to do a 3D printer event before the end of the year
  - Better for holidays because printing takes a little while
- Events organising event will be held soon to organise stuff for next year
  - Emails should be sent out soon 

##Social Report
- LAN happened, it went well... until 1 AM when everyone left
  - Possible solutions, start earlier and don't anticipate people to stay
    overnight
  - LAN was somehow set up before 5PM, thanks to [AJT] for help with that

##Treasurer's Report
- dollarydoos
  - $42 on Card
  - $3635 in Westpac
  - $1107 in Guild

- Still waiting on grants, should be here soon
- 3D printer was broken and fixed by [JDN]

##Secretary's Report
- [CHS]'s brother runs a T-shirt 
  - Will bring more info next week

##Fresher Rep's Report
- New Hearthstone tourney in organisation
  - Will feature "Cheese" strats prolly
- Also a pizza night some time soon
  - Possibly a Christmas theme
- In negotiations to acquire a bunch of random South African cans for the Coke
  Machine

##Machine Technical Reports

- Exist
- Merlo has gone off at least once
- Samba on Molmol is/was breaking
- [BG3] and [MTL] went through the machine room to see what could be tossed
  - Sometime soon there will be an e-waste run

- Network is not not working

###Desktops
- Cockgrunter is unhealthy
- Corydoras is unhealthy
- [AMS] and a wheel member to reinstall all windows machines

- New lock for machine room
  - and bottle opener

- O-Day planning starts this week
- New SOC council as of next week

- Started a conversation with CASSA about holding a LAN
  - Probably to be held late Jan/Feb

- i realy should have studdied LAN
  - Less of a failure than exams
  - People left early
  - Thanks again to [AJT]  

- O-Day
  - Should start planning one day
  - [BG3] reccomends a 6x3 stall
  - BG3 - "things in UCC break because I can't remember exactly what"
  - IRC - "things in UCC break because we use obscure things and they aren't
    maintained"
  - Something something 3D printer
  - We need an initial meeting for O-Day
  - [CHS] to head O-Day organisation
    - [LDA] and [MVP] ass-isting
    - Other committee members to help
     - List of some of the things that need to be organised
       - posters, flyers, fresher guide, t-shirts, membership stickers, 
         stall plan, clubroom plan
       - [LDA]: "what's a fresher guide?"

- [BG3] and [TBB] to investigate new Linux computer
  - Ongoing
- [CHS] to purchase desk microphones
  - To be ordered online, struggles were had trying to buy them in store

  - Ongoing

##General Business
- Meeting times
  - Meetings will probably stay on Mondays at middays but a new timetable
  - Probably also a break  

- UCC Wiki 
  - Is hella out of date
  - [MVP] to organise an event
    - Will play shitty movies while people update the wiki

- Cleanup 
  - Will happen after Christmas for busy bee
  - Before Christmas (in a few weeks) there will be a smaller clubroom
    cleanup/cleanout
  - E-waste pickup/delivery

- Drink prices
  - May go up by a few cents by next year
  - Will be revisited next year
