Thanks to everyone involved. We got some VAXes and RISC boxes. We hope to make them into Xterms. We also now have 2 Alphas, we want to do useful things with them. Need RAM. 4 x 8Mb each minimum. VP report: Coke are bastards. FAL have monthly specials, but you have to go to FAL Balcatta or Cannington, will not give prices over the phone. [SAM] arrives. Suggestion that we should consider life membership fee, maybe around $100, with a hope of getting life members at the 25th. Suggestion of a couple of potential HLMs. To be discussed further. [Not discussed later] T-shirt. Potential design for 25th t-shirt is on G3, to have sponsors on the back. We want more potential sponsors to try contacting. Suggestions with details to [MEL] please. Soc: there are some changes to Soc council regulations which don't affect us badly. In first semester from now on, the membership fee needs to be at least $4 with $2 discount, 2nd semester at least $2 with $1 discount. Prosh - is approaching. [MEL] has mad ideas. To be discussed in general business. [Was not discussed in general business] www.yap.com.au - National Universities site. Investigating a link under clubs & societies. Committee account. We should account for phone calls made by committee, with a committee account. Treasurers report: [NRR] is a frequent visitor to guild banking and is collecting frequent visitor points. [NRR] has paid amounts owing to [NTU] $374.40 and himself $259.19 for a coke run. Paid $200 to Curtin Uni Bookshop for vending machine. Receipt should be photocopied and put inside $550 to Hamersley Iron ($500 coming from [WAZ]). [JPB] went on a jolt run $268.40. Banked $508.30 including $150-ish from Simone. Balance $1995.30 inc term deposit but awaiting $500 from [WAZ]. Correspondance report: Will empty mailbox after meeting. [Only one note in mailbox. Not much of interest to us on it.] Machine report: Unplugged ACMS webserver, banner ad issue fixed, plugged back in. ACMS will remove HP boxes this weekend. Starfish to be retired and ACMS will take it. General business: Hamersley Iron - have confirmed R10k boxes are donated but will not be delivered until May due to a problem internal to H. Iron. Two other machines, one for [WAZ] and one for UCC, will be collected next week. 25th - discuss invitations, free tickets, etc, at committee before doing them (and give out any such tickets/invitations no more than 2 weeks before the actual event). Peter Bagas - was seen making phonecalls, had not dispensed any, account was locked. He claims to have paid by cash. We should make a rule that people can only pay by dispense, and unlock his account. No more cash phonecalls. Long phonecalls and phonecalls outside the room are also not acceptable. Committee meeting next week - [NRR] will take notes.
